Barcelona Cemeteries, following its philosophy of respect for the environment, is incorporating electric vehicles to carry out burials in small and medium-sized cemeteries in the city.

The cremation of the deceased can have two polluting elements. On the one hand, the complementary metals and crystals and, on the other, those specific to cremation, which form the elements and emissions into the atmosphere.

The practice of cremation is growing remarkably internationally, although in Barcelona, ​​with a percentage of 35%, there is still a long way to go.

Barcelona Cemeteries has two free charging points for electric vehicles in the Poblenou and Sant Andreu cemeteries. These will serve users and electric cars of the entity.

In September 2014, the solar panel park of the Les Corts Cemetery was inaugurated, thanks to which the site will have energy self-sufficiency.
