We accompany you in the farewell of your loved one, from the ceremony at the cemetery to the moment of cremation or burial. We have different spaces to create a climate of intimacy and recollection.
We have had a computerized database since 1985, but you can also request information on people buried in our cemeteries before 1985.
In order to be able to place a decorative element on the outside of your grave, you must apply for a permit so that we can send you the authorization.
You can request in our offices the recording of the names of the people buried in your grave.
The Montjuïc crematorium, inaugurated in 1997, is a two-storey building, each of more than 600m2. This space has 5 cremation ovens and 2 dioxin filtering plants, completely respectful of the environment.
In recent years, Cementiris de Barcelona has created different spaces for the burial of ashes in natural environments that are added to that of cremation columbariums, where you can also give burials in urns.
Aware of the difficulty of travel, sometimes, for some members of the families, we have a service of ceremonies in Streaming, in order to cover virtually and live the farewell ceremony of a deceased person.
With the aim of shortening the procedures for relatives and with the prior request of the family, Barcelona Cemeteries offers the possibility of delivering the ashes of the deceased within 4 hours.
The cremation service of remains is governed by the sanitary and hygienic provisions in force and they are entered in the title and in the Register Books of the cemeteries.

The transfer of a deceased person from one grave to another can be done within the same cemetery or between different cemeteries as long as everything that is established in the current Cemeteries Ordinance is complied with for these cases.
