RUTA BEEHAVE – L’ALTRE COSTAT

The Other Side is a literary visit to the Poblenou cemetery exploring gravestones with angels and bee-related imagery. According to classical mythology, bees have the ability to travel between the realms of the living and the dead. A smartphone app allows participants to follow this itinerary and listen to excerpts of writings from different periods that contain references to these insects.

To enter The Other Side audio space, please follow these instructions:

  • Download the free Arilyn app onto your phone or tablet from the App Store or Google Play.
  • You will find the first target sign at the entrance of the cemetery. Scan the sign to activate the first recording, available in three languages: Catalan, Spanish and English. After listening to the first reading, enter the cemetery and find the rest of the signs, as marked on the map. Printed maps are available at the entrance aisle of the cemetery.

Enjoy your visit!
